
Violet Yerich is a 16-year-old taekwondo athlete born and raised in Niagara Falls, where her family has lived for generations. She attends A.N. Myer Secondary School and began taekwondo recreationally when she was nine years old.
At 14, Violet started focusing on high-performance sparring with Jeong’s Family Taekwondo in Niagara and Master Sungmin Son in Vaughan, where her passion for the sport grew into a commitment to high-performance competition. During the 2025-2026 season, she won the Taekwondo Ontario Provincial Championship in both the Junior and Senior divisions and has also earned bronze and silver medals at the Taekwondo Canada Junior National Championships.
This summer, Violet was selected by Taekwondo Ontario to attend the Galeb International Summer Training Camp in Serbia, where she trained alongside athletes from around the world and gained valuable experience in an elite training environment.
Proud to represent Niagara, Violet continues to train and compete at the provincial, national, and international levels as she works toward the next stage of her taekwondo career.
